“Brevin did the most amazing job at our Labor Day weekend wedding at the Inn at Stonecliffe! Without much direction from Dan & I, Brevin played a fantastic mix of music for our cocktail reception and then continued his excellence throughout the reception tent! We had 5 year olds to 74 year olds on the dance floor...having the time of their lives! Music is one of the most important aspects of the day and we couldn't be happier with the job Brevin did. He came highly recommended and we now see why! :) There was not 1 single bump in the night with him. Everyone has raved what an awesome time they had on the dance floor! We never wanted the night to end...what an amazing wedding! Thank you Brevin!”

Full Bio

Whether rocking classics, spinning the latest hits, or mashing two genres seamlessly, Brevin knows what it takes to move a crowd.

Impeccable track selection, smooth mixes, and crowd management are the essential ingredients that make any Brevin event a truly memorable & unique experience.

Born in Lansing Michigan, Brevin began his love affair with music at a young age. While attending Michigan State University, Brevin parlayed his passion into a career when he began rocking house parties, bars, clubs and receptions in and around the capitol city while pursuing a bachelors degree in communications.

A life long seasonal resident of Mackinac Island, Brevin swiftly established residencies at all the Islands hot spots and reception venues, where he continues to perform weekly, May - October.

In 2005, Brevin founded Island Entertainment, Mackinac Wedding Specialists located on the Island, and soon became the go to entertainment provider on Mackinac, known for the understanding of the complex logistics of Island weddings and quality performances.

Over the years, Brevin's career and talents have blossomed, affording him the opportunity to perform in some of the most unique venues and events in the state of Michigan.

When the city of Detroit Michigan was chosen to play host to Superbowl XL, it was Brevin who was tapped to broadcast live from the banks of the Detroit River.

In July 2008, Brevin was privileged to be chosen as the official entertainer of the 100th Annual Chicago to Mackinac Awards Ceremony, and event which he has presided over since.

In June 2012, Brevin was named "Best Party DJ" in Traverse Magazine's annual "Red Hot Best of Northern Michigan" competition.

Though Michigan remains his home base, Brevin's talents have taken him to venues in Costa Rica, Cabo San Lucas Mexico, and Canada.

Through hard work and determination, this well rounded artist has amassed a resume that any deejay would be envious of. Quick hands, a skilled musical ear and ability to play to diverse audiences have served as the foundation of past accomplishments, while unrelenting focus and dedication to his trade assure Brevin continued success in the future.

FAQs

The American Disc Jockey Association strongly recommends that you ask the following questions of your prospective DJ. For more information, visit www.adja.org and click on the “Hiring DJ Tips” link.

Are you insured? Can you supply me with proof of liability?

I am a fully insured limited liability corporation.

Will you be willing to play requests and discuss music ahead of time?

I provide my clients with a comprehensive contract and event planner designed to insure that every aspect of your special day goes according to plan. If at any time in the planning process you need assistance, I am personally willing and able to assist you as needed.

Do you use Professional Equipment?

Simply put, I use the finest professional grade audio and lighting equipment. Each of my three complete DJ rigs is identically outfitted with Turntables, Mackie Powered Speakers, Shure Wireless Microphones, Serato Scratch Live Software, & an optional Martin Light Show.

Do you provide backup equipment at my event?

All of my DJ rigs are outfitted to operate independently in the unlikely event of the failure of any one of the components. You have enough to worry about on your big day, your disc jockeys equipment failing should not be one of your concerns.

Does the Disc Jockey know the proper etiquette for your type of party?

A professional disc jockey for 10 years, I have performed at every kind of event you can imagine, and my experience shows. As a result of my vast experience, I fully understand the intricacies necessary to make each event a complete success.

How much time do you allow for set-up?

To me, punctuality is a must. As such, I will be fully set up prior to your first guests’ arrival at the reception or ceremony. Additionally, all set up and break down time is factored into my price quote…you pay only for the time I am entertaining you and your guests.

Do you provide a written contract?

For the protection of all parties, I provide all clients with a written contract. In order to reserve your date, I require that this document be completed in full and returned along with a non refundable retainer fee of 50%.

Will you be suitably dressed for our occasion?

In accordance with the type of event & your personal preference, I always dress to impress.

OTHER ITEMS TO NOTE:

Disc Jockey rates vary based on talent, experience, emcee ability, service, coordination, equipment needed, music knowledge, mixing ability and personality.

Rates for the DJ industry vary greatly, ranging from $350.00 to over $5,000.00 with an average of $1,200.00 for a 4 hour booking. The best price is not always the best deal, especially if you are planning a wedding. As a matter of fact, surveys conclude that nearly 100% of brides would have spent more money on their entertainment and made it their #1 priority in hindsight.

As your disc jockey, I normally invest 12 to 30 hours of my time on your special event but it may appear that you are only paying for "4 hours". Consultations, music purchasing & editing, preparation, set-up and tear-down, education and other business related endeavors add up to the overall success of your special occasion.
